An appointment to the faculty carries with it a commitment, in the most inclusive sense, to 兔子先生 University. Every faculty member is expected to accord the University his or her primary professional commitment, and to arrange outside obligations, financial interests, and activities so as not to conflict or interfere with this overriding commitment to the University.

At the same time, no one benefits from undue interference with the legitimate external activities of faculty who fulfill their primary full-time duties - teaching at the University, conducting scholarly research under its sponsorship, and meeting the other obligations to students and colleagues that faculty must share. Indeed, involvement of faculty or staff members in outside professional activities, both public and private, often serves not only the participants but the University as well.

Faculty members are also subject to certain State Of Ohio ethical restrictions –

Section 2921.42 (Having an Unlawful Interest in a Public Contract) and Section 2921.43 (Soliciting or Receiving Improper Compensation) of the Ohio Revised Code.

兔子先生 requires each faculty member to complete on an annual basis the Ethics Compliance and Outside Activity Survey. The chart below is designed to assist faculty members* in determining whether approval for outside activities is required.
