College of Creative Arts Dean Ryan Fisher appointed to Cincinnati Youth Choir board
Ryan Fisher, Dean of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University’s College of Creative Arts, has been appointed to the board of the Cincinnati Youth Choir (CYC), one of the nation’s leading community youth choir programs. With this new role, Fisher joins a distinguished organization that has earned numerous accolades, including the recent 2024 American Prize in Youth Choir Division. CYC’s artistic director, Robyn Lana, is also an adjunct instructor at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, where she directs the award-winning Choraliers ensemble.
Reflecting on his appointment, Fisher said, “It is an honor to join the board of one of the most successful and renowned community youth choir programs in the country. As a choral director, I would often find inspiration in programming for my ensembles based on the CYC performances available on YouTube. An added bonus is collaborating with Robyn Lana, who is not only an exceptional artistic director but also a valued member of our College of Creative Arts faculty.”
Fisher’s involvement with CYC aligns well with his background and passion for choral arts. His experience as a choral director brings valuable insights to CYC’s board, where he will contribute to supporting and advancing youth choral music education in Cincinnati and beyond.
Founded by Robyn Lana, the Cincinnati Youth Choir provides professional-level choral experiences to young singers throughout southwest Ohio. The organization has received national and international recognition for its performance excellence and educational engagement programs. Lana highlights Fisher’s wealth of experience and passion for choral education sharing that “his experience as an administrator and understanding of nonprofit community arts programs will have great impact on the Cincinnati Youth Choir.”
This new role underscores Fisher’s commitment to fostering artistic growth and community engagement both at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University and in the broader choral community. His board membership also strengthens ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University’s connection with CYC, enhancing opportunities for students and faculty within ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s College of Creative Arts.
