FSB business fraternity wins big at Nationals again

The of the Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University and the Farmer School of Business won the Lewis F. Gordon Top Gold Chapter Award, which recognizes PSE ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú as the top-performing chapter nationwide for the 2023-2024 term.

If the preceding paragraph sounds familiar, it’s likely because you _have_ heard it before. The Gamma Gamma chapter has been named the top chapter 18 of the past 26 years, including six of the last seven.

is a professional fraternity for students and industry professionals in marketing and management, and one of five business fraternities at the Farmer School. The fraternity and 34 of its chapters held the 2024 national convention in St. Louis earlier this month.

“It's a special thing to serve as a leader in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's PSE chapter--you become part of the history of sustained excellence going back more than 25 years. An engaged alumni network and the hard work of faculty advisors Dr. Don Norris and Patrick Lindsay provide a support system that enables student leaders to take ownership of their positions and create innovative new programming,” former chapter president  and masters student said. “As we innovate, we continue to evolve to be an organization that meets the unique needs of our members. PSE ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú remains successful because we focus on developing the skills of our members, enabling future leaders to keep achieving excellence.”

The chapter’s members took first or second place in 11 of the 13 national competitions entered, including top social media performance, top recruitment strategy, marketing/sales projects, chapter member professional development, new member development, top project manager, and top management team.

“A team of more than 30 chapter members spent months detailing the chapter planning process, analyzing finances, and critically evaluating outcome metrics in concise reports and presentations,” Minyo said. “The awards program tracks perfectly to the corporate world--plan, execute, evaluate. The competition process develops oral and written communication skills and provides an opportunity to engage with corporate partners who assist in judging.”

“The 2024 Pi Sigma Epsilon National Convention was a life-changing experience. I was fortunate enough to present Gamma Gamma’s bid for Top New Member Development Program alongside Emma Latherow and Mallory Stiles,” senior marketing and business analytics major said. “We prepared countless hours to articulate the value of our new member process, and I am beyond proud that we were able to convey this effectively.”

In addition, four Farmer School students, Charlotte Thaler, Sean Quinn, Jaiden Knecht-Voll, and Danny Harrison, earned scholarships totaling $6,000.

“PSE has afforded me the opportunity to grow as a business professional, enhancing my experience as a Farmer School of Business student,” Hogshead said. “I have undergone a variety of sales and marketing experiences, such as this National Convention, that will benefit me as I go off into the work force.”
