Multimillion-dollar gift names Farmer School of Business student advising center
A multimillion-dollar gift from '86 and his wife Anita will transform the Farmer School’s student advising office into the Dauch Academic Advising Center.
Jenny Darroch, dean of the Farmer School of Business (FSB) and Mitchell P. Rales chair in business ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip, remarked, “The Dauch family has been a tremendous supporter of the school and the university for many years. In addition to the millions of dollars they have donated to support FSB and athletics, David has served on our Business Advisory Council for more than a decade and currently shares board chair responsibilities with Nina Leigh Krueger, Nestle Purina PetCare CEO and President, helping to ensure that our strategy and curriculum best position our students for success."
"This naming gift is especially timely as we seek to expand our services to the 5,000 students we serve, ensuring that their FSB educational experience and career outcomes are maximized. We truly cannot thank them enough,” Darroch said.
Chanelle White, FSB Senior Assistant Dean and Director of Divisional Advising, commented, "We are thrilled to receive the gift from David and Anita Dauch for the Dauch Academic Advising Center. This gift will allow the advising team to add an additional student advisor to our staff, making support even more easily accessible for Farmer School of Business students. The tremendous gift makes it possible for advisors to focus on providing additional support to students who need it the most. In addition, all our advisors will have the opportunity for ongoing training and development to further enhance their work."
“ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University has been and always will be a special place in our lives. As a former student athlete and business school graduate, I am honored, along with my wife Anita, to partner with the FSB to establish the Dauch Academic Advising Center. This center will provide academic support, guidance, and counseling services to all FSB students. Most importantly, we want to enhance the undergraduate and graduate student experience while preparing FSB students for their careers and future success," David Dauch said.
"Additionally, we are pleased to jointly partner the FSB with the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Athletic Department to establish Dauch Family Scholarships, across multiple sports, for student athletes. I also would like to recognize and thank Jenny Darroch and David Sayler, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics for their personal leadership, along with the University Development Staff, for making our vision become a reality,” he said. "The greatest joy in life is giving back and making a meaningful difference in other people’s lives. Anita and I are both proud and honored to do our part to impact others in a positive way.”
David is the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), a Fortune 500, Global Tier 1 Automotive Supplier headquartered in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from the Farmer School of Business with a degree in management, focusing on operations and supply chain management, then earned an MBA from Michigan State University.
