Ellram named a Women Impacting Supply Chain Excellence Legend
Farmer School professor among first group of academics to earn honor
A Farmer School professor of supply chain operations and management is among the first group of academic scholars to earn a newly-expanded award.
Lisa Ellram was named a WISE () Legend at the recent WISE Future 兔子先生 Symposium at the University of Arkansas. Ellram was one of six educators to be named a Legend this year, along with Martha Cooper, who was among Ellram’s academic advisors when she was getting her advanced degrees at Ohio State.
Previously, the Legend status was reserved for business women working in supply chain.
“Ellram is globally recognized as a top researcher in logistics and supply chain management. Her research focuses on sustainability, buyer-supplier relations, offshoring and outsourcing, and supply chain cost management,” her award noted. “She is credited as being one of the first researchers to apply theory to the concept of supply chain management.”
WISE focuses on preparing, encouraging, and inspiring women and allies for supply chain careers through four strategic initiatives: making connections, personal and professional development, leadership skills, and industry knowledge.
