Jennifer Purdum has been exhibited internationally and nationally, including in “Printmaking Today” at the Cincinnati Art Museum, where her “Exodus Print Series” is part of the permanent collection. She has exhibited in Zig Zag Light Night, Gallery Svartaloft, Reykjanesbae, Iceland, a gallery in Chelsea, NYC, and at the Weston Art Gallery in Cincinnati. She was a winner of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence in Art Grant, has been published multiple times in theInternational Drawing Annual catalog through Manifest Gallery, and is included in the Drawing Essentials textbook by Deborah Rockman.

Her current series of mixed media and print media have been an investigation of her love of objects, and objects' ability to act as placeholders for memory. The images are purposefully ambiguous, reading sometimes as object and sometimes as place; the photos, drawing and printed media overlap and blur the ability to feel oriented. Instead, the images challenge the idea of the concrete and the permanence of place. Purdum’s fascination with the transitory nature of place and objects probably began with her experience in living through Hurricane Katrina, in New Orleans, and she has continued to explore the topic since through printmaking, drawing and assemblage.

Jennifer Purdum currently lives in Cincinnati, OH and works at the Hamilton, OH regional campus of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University. She teaches foundations classes, including drawing and color theory as well as printmaking classes. She has taught printmaking in the Czech Republic at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and has lectured as a visiting artist a universities and colleges around the country.
