Dear ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Community Member,
At ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, we seek to create an environment characterized by transparency, fairness, and equal access for all students, staff and faculty. Last fall, ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú began the important task of developing a meaningful climate assessment. Today the survey part of this assessment is now available to the whole ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú community, across all campuses.
The survey provides an opportunity to make a difference in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s future by helping create a more welcoming and inclusive campus climate grounded in mutual respect, nurtured by dialogue, and evidenced by a pattern of collegiality and team spirit. It is critically important to advancing our common mission.
The One ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Campus Climate Survey will assess how all members of our community experience the current campus climate. The project has three main goals: 1) identify successful initiatives, 2) uncover any challenges facing members of our community, and 3) develop strategic initiatives to build on the successes and address the challenges.
Please help us understand the current climate at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú by participating in the survey. This survey is designed to provide information about both the positive and the challenging aspects of our climate. This opportunity will help us understand personal experiences and observations, and to receive suggestions for change to enhance the campus climate at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú.
Be assured, you will not be identifiable as an individual; all of your answers will remain confidential and the results will be reported in group form only. Also, be assured, this research has been reviewed and approved by the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Institutional Review Board.
Your participation is greatly appreciated. Please take 20-30 minutes to answer the questions by going to https://rankinsurveys2.com/miamioh/.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this vital project. All of us at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University are grateful for your participation.
Love and Honor,
Greg Crawford
Dear ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Community:
At ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, we seek to create an environment characterized by transparency, fairness, and equal access for all students, staff, and faculty. During 2017–2018 ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University will undertake a vital climate assessment. This is an opportunity to make a difference in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's future by helping create a more welcoming and inclusive campus climate, grounded in mutual respect, nurtured by dialogue, and evidenced by a pattern of civil interaction. Creating and maintaining a community culture across our multiple campuses that reflects Love and Honor by respecting individual needs, abilities, and potential is critically important to advancing our common mission.
To ensure full transparency and to provide a more complete perspective, we have contracted with Rankin & Associates Consulting to help lead this effort. Rankin & Associates has conducted more than 170 campus climate assessment projects over the last 20 years.
A team from Rankin & Associates will be working with a committee of students, staff, and faculty from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University to develop and implement the assessment. The results will better enable us to both develop programs and policies that will increase inclusivity in areas that are shown to need improvement and to enhance and replicate programs and policies in areas that are successfully meeting the needs of the community.
A climate project web site is being developed to provide communication on the project process and results. We will update this site with additional information as the project progresses.
I hope that you will join me in supporting this important project.
Love and Honor,
Greg Crawford
The Campus Climate Survey task force has been working hard since last fall to identify key issues from the comprehensive Campus Climate Survey completed in 2017. In doing so, they have created a (PDF).
In January and February 2019, the Campus Climate Survey task force invited ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúans on all local campuses to five forums to discuss survey responses and provide feedback on recommendations culled from the survey results.
They provided President Crawford with a final list of recommendations in late March.
Our mission is to empower each student, staff, and faculty member to promote and become engaged citizens who use their acquired knowledge and skills with integrity and compassion to improve the future of the community and the world.
