Why ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú?
The physics department is a small and tight community, allowing me to participate in undergraduate research and various other opportunities that wouldn’t have been possible in larger departments. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú university is also such a beautiful campus and rich in history.
How did you choose your major?
I applied originally as an engineering physics major, but I found a deeper passion for physics. So I switched to a physics major to take more higher level physics classes along with wanting to pursue a Ph.D in physics.
Key Moment at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú
My past research advisor in the physics department showed me that I really wanted to pursue a research career in optical/ atomic physics. This has pushed me to pursue graduate school. Along with this, being an SI in the department has shows me that I enjoy teaching physics and also want to pursue a career in academia.
Other Notable Experience
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Marching Band has been my rock since I first came to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. Literally being the first people from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú I ever met, it has been a constant source is support and joy through my time here. It is great to be take my mind off classes and perform at football games!
What are your career goals?
I am applying to graduate schools with the intention of becoming a researcher in physics and eventually a professor of physics.
