On April 4th, Nyama McCarthy-Brown, Ohio State's Inaugural Artist Laureate, graced ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Hamilton with her presence as part of her laureate tour. The occasion marked a first of it’s kind collaboration between two prestigious institutions in the realm of arts and education.
During her residency, McCarthy-Brown engaged with the dance program at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, involving eight student dancers alongside Director of Dance Ashley Goos in a series of enriching activities.
The highlight of the day culminated in a presentation of dance pieces, showcasing the culmination of McCarthy-Brown's artistic vision and the collaborative efforts of the participants. Notably, the final work of the day integrated ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú dancers into the movement score, highlighting the seamless synergy between talent and creativity.
