ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University's Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum (RCCAM) unveils new Brand Identity
Oxford, OH — The Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University is proud to announce the launch of its new brand identity, reflecting the museum's distinctive architectural design and commitment to artistic diversity. The rebranding, which follows the museum’s naming in December 2022, and coincides with the unveiling of the museum's Fall exhibitions, will officially debut on August 27th.
The new brand captures the essence of the museum's unique architecture, featuring angular and triangular shapes that echo its design by renowned architect Walter Netsch. This visual identity underscores the museum's role as a vibrant space for arts and culture, being open to the public and part of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University community.
The rebranding initiative was a collaborative effort involving the talented brand team led by Director of Creative Services John Rizzo and Associate Art Director Danielle Cimino, of the University's Communications and Marketing (UCM) department. The final design concept was created by Macey Chamberlin, a recent ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú graduate and former Graphic Design Student Specialist at the museum. Chamberlin's insider perspective and artistic expertise were instrumental in bringing the new brand to life.
"For years, we've struggled with our brand identity, especially as an art museum open to the public and part of a powerfully branded institution like ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University," said Sherri Krazl who manages the museum's marketing and communications. "After proposing the rebrand and providing extensive research on peer university art museum brands, we were thrilled to get to move forward with this project. The process has been in the works for well over a year. Huge thanks go out to our peers in UCM, who have been fantastic to work with, and to the many museum students, staff, members, and supporters who provided valuable feedback throughout the process.”
Jack Green, Jeffrey Horrell ‘75 and Rodney Rose Director and Chief Curator at the Art Museum, added “We are excited to move forward with this new brand as we continue to position the museum as a space for everyone to experience and celebrate artistic diversity."
The new brand identity will be integrated across all museum materials, including the website, social media channels, and promotional materials, as well as within the museum's physical spaces in the coming months.
