The ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ University Symphony Orchestra (MUSO), under the baton of Maestro Ricardo Averbach, proudly presents its spring concert, ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ’s Got Talent. This extraordinary program celebrates the remarkable talents of ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ University’s student musicians, highlighting the winners of both the Concerto Competition and the Composition Competition.

Program Highlights

The evening begins with an exhilarating showcase of Concerto Competition winners:

  • Wolfgang Amadeus MozartPiano Concerto No. 12 in A Major, K. 414 (1st movement: Allegro) featuring pianist Ee Ning Chong.
  • Edward ElgarCello Concerto in E Minor, Op. 85 (4th movement) with cellist Elliott Watras.
  • Artie ShawConcerto for Clarinet, performed by clarinetist Max Tumbleson.

Following a brief intermission, the program transitions to innovative works by ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ student and faculty composers and iconic masterpieces:

  • Gabe HardmanAction Potentials (winner of the Composition Competition).
  • Phillip RobertsHocket Rocket. This energetic and groundbreaking work, fusing medieval hocket techniques with funk rock energy, is dedicated to MUSO and Maestro Averbach.
  • Richard WagnerPrelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde and the Overture to Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.

This diverse program promises an unforgettable evening of classical brilliance, contemporary creativity, and passionate performance, showcasing the depth of talent and innovation within ΝΓΧΣΟΘΙϊ University’s music community.
