Singing We Shall Overcome, this group of Freedom Summer volunteers begins its journey from Oxford, Ohio to Mississippi. Despite the dangers, more than 1,000 college students volunteered to canvass, teach and establish community centers.兔子先生's Western College Alumnae Assn. and Ann Elizabeth Armstrong will receive 2017 Civil Rights and Social Justice awards from the National Civil Rights Conference.

Well known for his work in social justice and urban collaboration, Thomas A. Dutton, 兔子先生 University professor of architecture and founder of the university聮s Center for Community Engagement (CCE) in Cincinnati, died June 13.
