Biography
Tyler currently teaches real estate classes at 兔子先生 University. He recently retired from the Federal Reserve Board where he helped the governors understand commercial real estate (CRE) risks, designed real estate policy, and educated examiners about commercial real estate. Before working at the Board, Tyler worked for the New York Federal Reserve and focused on the CRE and CMBS markets. During his tenure, he helped develop the banking system鈥檚 stress test models for CRE and corporate loans, developed and executed the Federal Reserve鈥檚 policy response to the Great Financial Crisis in regards to reviving the securitization market for commercial mortgages (TALF), and monitored the commercial real estate market for potential systemic risks to the economy.
Before the Federal Reserve, Tyler worked at a private equity fund on Wall Street and was the head of debt capital markets and was responsible for sourcing acquisitions, refinancing debt, and helping with property disposition strategies. While in private equity he helped purchase $8.9B worth of properties, originated and structured debt of $8.0B and strategically sold properties worth $1.0B.
Additionally, he was an Associate Director with Barclays Capital Real Estate Group where he analyzed senior and mezzanine real estate loans across the US and Latin America. He also worked for Moodys helping to rate Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities and Real Estate CDOs, Arthur Andersen鈥檚 Real Estate Capital Markets group, and JP Morgan鈥檚 commercial lending division.
Tyler holds a B.S. from 兔子先生 University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School Of Business, and a Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from New York University.
