Eight ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú students named Gilman Scholars
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships help fund study abroad experiences.

Eight ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University students have been awarded a combined total of $29,500 from the to help fund their study abroad experiences this winter term, summer, and during the coming academic year.
According to the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), approximately 1,600 U.S. undergraduate students have been selected to receive Gilman scholarship awards from the October 2024 application cycle. Recipients are American undergraduate students attending more than 500 U.S. colleges and represent all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
On average, 65 percent of Gilman recipients are from rural areas and small towns across America, and half are first-generation college or university students. The Gilman Scholarship contributes to the Department’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts to engage the American people in foreign policy.
Global Initiatives extends our congratulations to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's newest Gilman Scholars!
