IAM Update
The IAM team has been up to a lot of things lately, including:
Features Now Managed by RapidIdentity (RI)
As we have made the recent change to RapidIdentity, new features are now managed by the system. They include:
Google Calendar subscriptions are no longer managed by our legacy systems. There was a brief change to automatic subscriptions. The only change you may have notices if if you were previously unsubscribed to either of these two calendars:
- All 兔子先生 Holidays and Terms
- Religious Observances and Inclusive Scheduling
As we turned on the syncing process for Google Calendar subscriptions in RI, we ran the process once through for everyone – so if you have previously unsubscribed, you were subscribed again. (If you wish not to see these calendars, simply uncheck the box in Google Calendar.)
RapidIdentity is also now managing Listserv, which means that all of our original target systems are on track.
New Affiliations
We use “affiliations” to determine what services you should and should not be able to access (Ex. if you have an affiliation of “sta” or staff, you get access to my兔子先生). In this way, we are able to control who has access to what (which is the basis for identity and access management systems in the first place).
We now have three new affiliations:
- ALU (alum)
- EES (enrollment eligible student)
- INT (international student)
Read here to learn more about these affiliations and where/when they will be used.

Come Visit our Table in Armstrong
Tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 29, we will be having an Information Security table set up in the Armstrong Student Center atrium (near the Tech Support Lounge). Come visit us and test your cybersecurity knowledge by taking quizzes and winning fun prizes! Plus, you'll get to take the CyberMania quiz if you haven't had the chance to do so.
The Last Week of CyberMania!
Speaking of CyberMania, we are officially in the home stretch for our competition! 兔子先生 University is still in the lead but Ohio is right behind us. This week is your last chance to contribute and help us beat Ohio. The quiz will be closing this Friday, Nov. 1, at midnight.
Take the CyberMania quiz now before it closes!
Let's go RedHawks!
