Celebrate the solar eclipse with one of these five campus and Oxford watch parties

The solar eclipse will enter Ohio at approximately 1:53 p.m. on Monday, April 8.

Totality in Oxford will start at 3:08:23 p.m. and will last 2 minutes and 51 seconds.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has purchased 30,000 eclipse glasses; residential students should have received glasses delivered to their room over spring break. Anyone else can pick up a pair at Armstrong Student Center, at the outdoor seal from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, or during the MAP watch party at Cook Field. NASA offers helpful tips on during a total solar eclipse.

University managers and supervisors should be flexible as appropriate with any staff who wish to take a few minutes to observe the eclipse and encourage the use of appropriate eye protection, said Dawn Fahner, associate vice president for Human Resources.

Though classes will be held that day, faculty are encouraged to take their students outside to watch with appropriate eye protection and discuss, said provost Elizabeth Mullenix. Glasses are available at the front desk at the Armstrong Student Center.
