ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University’s Associated Student Government announced the top 10 nominees and winner of the 2024 Outstanding Professor Award.

Patrick Haney, professor of Political Science, received the Outstanding Professor Award. Haney, director of the Center for Public Management and Regional Affairs, works on developing projects on inter-local homeland security and training modules for local government homeland security initiatives.

Haney is the lead advisor of the JANUS Forum, “one of the most revered and attended events on campus, whose message of fostering civil discourse has become immensely important in today’s political climate,” according to a student nominator.

“Whether in office hours, in the hallway, or in his course or not, any student can expect to have fascinating policy conversations, receive valuable career and networking opportunities, or gain empowering life advice. Dr.

Haney will go far beyond the typical advising or course questions and become a dedicated mentor for those that wish for it,” the nominator said.

“Dr. Haney’s unwavering support has provided myself and many students with academic and career opportunities that have undoubtedly enhanced our undergraduate experience.”
