ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University’s first pups will be rounding third and heading for home Aug. 12.

Newton and Ivy will take in the sights and sounds of Great American Ball Park that night as part of the Cincinnati Reds’ latest Bark in the Park event. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú President Greg Crawford and University Ambassador Dr. Renate Crawford will be there, too – and throwing out the game’s first pitch as the Reds take on the St. Louis Cardinals.

Tickets for the 6:40 p.m. game. Both humans and dogs require tickets.

"As proud members of the Greater Cincinnati Community, we are excited for the opportunity to represent ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University at Great American Ball Park,” Renate Crawford said. “And as dog lovers, we are especially excited to have Ivy and Newton join us in this great night out, rooting for the Reds."

This is one of two remaining Bark in the Park events from the Reds. The other is Sept. 18. Two previous Bark in the Park dates were held April 24 and May 22.

The upcoming game isn’t the only recent connection ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú has to Major League Baseball. In June, Peyton Olejnik was drafted in the sixth round by the Anaheim Angels. RedHawk teammate Zach MacDonald followed in the 15th round when he was selected by the Detroit Tigers.

“As a lifelong baseball fan, it’s a tremendous thrill to participate in a community-building event like Bark in the Park,” President Crawford said. “To be able to include Ivy and Newton will also be a joy as we cheer on the Reds to victory.”
