ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University career treks offer students unique opportunities to explore careers in Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus
The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Center for Career Exploration and Success has announced three career treks designed to offer students immersive, on-the-ground experiences in three major Ohio cities: Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus.
These treks will take place in January and March of 2025 as part of the Presidential Career and ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip Series. They offer exclusive access to leading employers and industry insiders across different career clusters, which are groupings of common occupations that focus on professional interests to help job seekers explore careers in broad industry categories.
“My trip to Cincinnati greatly impacted my academics and where I’ll look to complete future internships,” said Ben Carlson ’25, an accounting major who attended a PCLS career trek in 2023. “Connecting with ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú alumni and hearing about career paths was invaluable as I continue to explore my options. I also enjoyed meeting employers because it gave me experience networking in a real-world setting.”
will be accepted on a rolling basis until each trek is filled. Students are encouraged to apply early to maximize their chances of being selected for their first-choice trek.
Into the Queen City (Jan. 22-24, 2025)
Students seeking careers in education, nonprofit, and human services, and health and science will benefit from Into the Queen City. Key employers such as 3CDC, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, and Medpace will host students for presentations and networking opportunities over the three-day experience. The trek will also include stops at landmarks throughout Cincinnati, including the Cincinnati Museum Center.
Into the Capital City (Jan. 22-24, 2025)
Into the Capital City is tailored for students interested in engineering and technology, law and government, and management, sales, and consulting. Over the course of three days in Columbus, students will meet with policymakers, advocacy groups, and public-sector employers. Distinguished employer partners include American Electric Power, Battelle, Columbus Chamber of Commerce, Columbus Crew, the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, and the Ohio Statehouse.
Into the LAND (March 26-28, 2025)
Into the LAND will take students to Cleveland to explore career opportunities in accounting and financial services, arts, communication, media, and design, and economics and data analytics. Highlights include visits to renowned employers and venues like the Cleveland Cavaliers, Playhouse Square, Rocket Companies, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Participants will also have the chance to tour historic landmarks, network with ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú alumni in the area, and attend a Cleveland Cavaliers game.
