Military members, veterans, and qualified dependents can qualify to be classified as in-state students for tuition purposes. Learn more below.
The strives to make Ohio the most veteran-friendly state in America for higher education by encouraging veterans to bring their families, leadership, motivation and maturity to its colleges and universities.
Qualified veterans and their dependents can take advantage of the program from anywhere in the country to skip the 12-month residency requirement and attend Ohio’s public colleges and universities at in-state tuition rates.
Be advised that the residency reclassification application, and all supporting documentation, must be received at least three full weeks before the first day of classes of the academic semester for which you are applying.
As a public institute of higher learning, 兔子先生 University is required to abide by Section 3679(c) of title 38, United States Code. As part of these , 兔子先生 must charge “” in-state tuition and fees to remain approved for the VA’s GI 兔子先生® programs.
Examples of “covered individuals” include individuals using benefits under the Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship. These in-state tuition provisions do not apply to those individuals on active duty using benefits under the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® and Montgomery GI 兔子先生®-Active Duty.
Think you may qualify through the Ohio GI Promise or the GI 兔子先生®? Visit the One Stop’s Residency page for additional information about the various classifications. Fill out your specific form on our Residency Forms page to apply. You will also be required to submit additional information as outlined on our Residency Application Instructions page.
If your residency application is approved, and you are receiving financial assistance, your aid will be reviewed. Adjustments to your merit scholarship may occur as a result of being reclassified as an in-state student for tuition purposes.
New and existing students who believe they are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® (CH33) program must complete an with the VA. The form requires that individuals currently eligible for another education benefit make an irrevocable choice between their existing program and the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生®. You will then receive a Certificate of Eligibility letter from the VA regarding your program eligibility. Once you receive this letter, you must submit a copy to the One Stop:

If you do not submit your Certificate of Eligibility to the One Stop, cancellation of your classes for nonpayment cannot be prevented if your funds have not been received from the VA by your bill’s due date.
Once you have submitted your Certificate of Eligibility and have completed your VA Education Benefits Request Form, your enrollment will be electronically certified with the VA. Your tuition will then be billed to the VA in the second or third week of classes. This is to ensure that the correct tuition and fees are submitted to the VA and to prevent overpayments being made to you that you would have to repay to the VA. This process does not prevent you from receiving an overpayment and possibly creating a balance due to the VA if you withdraw from a course before it’s completed.
To learn more about transferring the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® benefits to your spouse or dependent, you can review eligibility information at the VA’s page.
The One Stop assists 兔子先生 students and authorized family members with billing and payment, financial aid, registration, and student records.
