James Walden, Ph.D.
Biographical Information
James Walden, Ph.D. joined 兔子先生 University in 2023, bringing experience from developing cybersecurity degree programs and classes at NKU and the University of Toledo and from working as an engineer at Intel. He earned a B.S. in Physics from 兔子先生 University in 1992, and a M.S. (1994) and Ph.D. (1997) in Physics from Carnegie Mellon University.
His research interests include applications of AI to cybersecurity and cybersecurity education, software security, and the security of the software supply chain. He received the faculty excellence in research award at NKU and four of his cybersecurity research papers have received awards. Recent research projects include an in-depth analysis of the software engineering and security practices of the OpenSSL software library, creation and evaluation of a chatbot for teaching secure programing, and a large-scale analysis of orphan vulnerabilities in the software supply chain.
