ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Regionals has been ranked one of Ohio’s top 5 Best Online Bachelor’s ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú by U.S. News & World Report.
This is the first year ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Regionals has applied for the ranking for its online programs, which scores hundreds of institutions based on the specific needs of online students.
Because the vast majority of students enrolled in online bachelor’s programs have earned at least some college credit, U.S. News’ rankings weigh how these programs are delivered, how effective schools are in awarding degrees in a reasonable amount of time, and their affordability.
"This ranking has confirmed what we at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Regionals already know: our online degree programs are among the best in Ohio — and in the country," said Ande Durojaiye, vice president and dean of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Regionals campuses. "ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Regionals is committed to improving access to education, removing barriers to entry, and creating and supporting an inclusive working and learning environment for all students, staff, and faculty where diversity of thought, practice, and experiences are not only welcomed but celebrated. This ranking reinforces the importance of our mission and demonstrates the success of our efforts."
Designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education, this year's edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree programs. The Best Online ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú include rankings of bachelor's programs as well as the following master's-level disciplines: MBA, business (non-MBA), computer information technology (including computer science), criminal justice/criminology, education, engineering, and nursing. While the methodologies are different for each discipline, they all incorporate metrics specific to online learning. The rankings only include degree-granting programs that are offered primarily online by regionally accredited institutions.
"ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Regionals has been a leader in the online education space for more than 20 years," said ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú President Gregory Crawford. "We are committed to providing an accessible, affordable, high-quality ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú education to students, whether online or in a traditional setting. Our efforts in online education strengthen the diverse network of thinkers, learners, and achievers that move on from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú to solve the world’s greatest challenges."
"Most of the undergraduate programs in the Best Online ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú rankings are degree completion programs, meaning the vast majority of their students already have some college credit," said Liana Loewus, managing editor of Education at U.S. News. "The methodologies are developed with those students in mind, setting these rankings apart from those that are focused on recent high school graduates pursuing higher education for the first time."
