Why ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Regionals?

One of the main reasons I chose ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Regionals was its convenient location, which made it easy to commute between campuses. At the start of my college career, I had always wanted to attend a large campus and fully experience college life. However, due to personal circumstances, I decided to enroll at the Regionals instead. That being said, studying at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Regionals has been an incredible opportunity. It has given me the flexibility to balance my school schedule and work while still gaining valuable experiences.

How did you choose your major?

At first, I wasn’t sure which area I wanted to pursue. However, after my freshman year, I connected with more people who helped me navigate different majors and discover what suited me best. Ultimately, I decided to major in Small Business Management with a minor in Sports Management, as this combination is ideal for working in the sports industry.

Choosing this major wasn’t easy because, as we know, the business industry is highly competitive. Not specializing in a specific field but rather gaining general business knowledge made the decision even tougher. However, I now see the value of my major, as it allows me to apply my knowledge across various areas. Having a minor in sports further enhances my ability to integrate both fields, especially in my current roles.

How has your involvement on campus shaped you as a leader and/or prepared you for your career?

Being involved in campus activities has helped me develop a diverse set of skills, including networking, communication, and leadership. I believe these are some of the most important skills one can possess to achieve success in their career. Developing these skill sets has allowed me to be more effective in my professional journey and has helped me advance in my current roles.

How have any faculty, staff, or mentors at the University played a significant role in your journey?

During my career at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, I have faced many challenges as a full-time student while managing multiple jobs. Connecting with mentors and faculty staff was difficult due to my time constraints. However, throughout my journey, I have encountered incredible people who have helped me prepare for the real world, guided me in securing jobs, and assisted me in interview preparation.

Other Notable Experience

As a student, I have had incredible experiences during my time at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. One of the highlights has definitely been getting to know people from diverse backgrounds, pursuing different careers and objectives. However, one thing that unites us all is our shared purpose — to succeed in life and in our careers. Having the opportunity to connect with other students and faculty has truly shaped my experience and growth as a student.

Advice to Prospective Students

One key piece of advice I can share with other students, no matter their situation, is to truly connect with people and not be afraid to take the next step. Stepping out of your comfort zone is essential, as it helps you build connections and create opportunities. There are always individuals willing to help, and networking is a powerful tool for success in your career. Always keep in mind that networking is the key to growth and advancement.
