Student Disability Services (SDS) provides accommodation during special events on campus, including Convocation and Commencement. We also coordinate student accommodation needs for special events and co-curricular activities.

Convocation

Convocation kicks off the start of the new school year by welcoming new students to campus. SDS provides American Sign Language interpreters. Captioning services are also provided and students can view captions on their mobile device.

Commencement

Commencement is a big day for graduates and their families. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú makes many efforts to ensure that your big day will be memorable.

Accessible seating, parking and drop-off areas are available at all ceremonies. Accessible shuttle services are available for the ceremony at Yager Stadium. All ceremonies have ushers and emergency personnel who are trained and equipped to assist people. We recommend arriving to campus early on commencement days. Many visitors arrive at least 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Reserved seating is not available during commencement ceremonies and seating is available on a first come first serve basis.

American Sign Language interpreters and Realtime Captioning are provided for all commencement ceremonies. Wheelchair escort is also available. We encourage you to visit the commencement website for more information.

Live Stream of Divisional Ceremony Captions

Each divisional ceremony will have closed captioning viewable on a mobile device. Captions will only be available during the livestream. 

Special Event Accommodations for Campus Visitors

Campus visitors who require special event accommodations should contact the event coordinator. This information can be found on the specific event publication materials. Accessible seating, parking, captioning and interpreting services are provided for all commencement ceremonies on all ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú campuses.
