Pathways Program
What is the Pathways Program?
Pathways is for students who have a solid academic record but who do not initially receive full admission to 兔子先生's main campus in Oxford.
Pathways students begin their college career on the Oxford campus and enjoy all the benefits of Oxford campus life. They also have a dedicated advisor to facilitate the transition to college and the students' overall success in the program as they live and study in Oxford. The only differences between Pathways student experiences and those of other 兔子先生 Oxford students are:
- Most first-year, core courses are taught (in Oxford, in person) by 兔子先生 faculty who are based on our Regional campuses.
- Students are advised by a Student Success Navigator in the Student Success Center.
- First-year tuition is at the 兔子先生 Regionals rate, not the 兔子先生 Oxford rate.
Pathways students must complete two full-time semesters and maintain satisfactory academic and behavior standing at 兔子先生 in order to gain full admission to the Oxford campus. After one year and successfully completing Pathways program requirements, students transition to a less-structured academic program, with Oxford coursework and academic advising. Their tuition will then increase to the Oxford-based student rate.

Pathways is a short-term, intensive learning program for students who have a solid academic record but who are not initially admitted to selective majors on 兔子先生's main campus in Oxford. As a Pathways student, you will begin your college career on the Oxford campus and enjoy all the benefits of Oxford campus life. Through Oxford-based academic advising and mentoring, students prepare for their successful transition to becoming full-time Oxford students beginning in the fall semester of their second year.
What campus will I attend for my first year?
Pathways students will attend classes on the Oxford campus, in person, in courses taught by 兔子先生 faculty who are based on our Regional campuses.
Can I take online classes?

Pathways students need to complete two full-time semesters of non-remedial coursework with a minimum 2.00 GPA before gaining full admission to the Oxford campus.
Do AP credits count toward the two full-time semesters required for full admission to the Oxford campus?
No. AP, CLEP, CCP/dual enrollment, or transfer credits do not count toward the two required full-time semesters needed. All courses must be taken at 兔子先生 following high school graduation.
Can I take a Winter Term class in my first year?
No. Pathways students must complete all qualifying requirements within the two full-time fall and spring semesters.
How does tuition work?
In their first year, Pathways students are charged regional campus tuition and Oxford campus housing, meal, and general fees. Beginning in their second year, after completing the Pathways requirements, students are charged Oxford tuition, housing, meal, and fees.

Academics and Facilities
Are there any restrictions on what majors can participate in the Pathways program?
Pathways students are admitted into Exploratory Studies while participating in their first year of courses. Following the successful completion of Pathways requirements, students can declare their 兔子先生 major.
Some students with strong quantitative skills may be able to gain admission the the Farmer School of Business as second-year students by working closely with their student success navigator and meeting several requirements. Majors in Nursing, Architecture, and Interior Design are not available to Pathways students.
What academic support will I receive?
Pathways students are advised by a Student Success Navigator in the Student Success Center who will ensure you have access to all of the resources 兔子先生 has to support you academically. After the successful completion of Pathways requirements, students transition to standard Oxford academic advising.
Will the students in my Pathways cohort take classes together?
Pathways students take some but not all classes together.
Do I have to take the pre-registered cohort classes?
It is highly recommended that Pathways students take the pre-registered cohort classes, which allow them to build stronger relationships with the other Pathways students. If there is a justifiable reason that a Pathways student is unable to take a cohort class (such as already having AP credit for the class), they are not required to take that class. All Pathways students must take a Pathways section of the First Year Experience Course: UNV 101 in the fall semester.
