What is the course content of my AFROTC classes?
The Aerospace Studies course (AES 121) is devoted to an examination of the heritage, values, and organizational structures of the Air Force and Space Force. It is also seen as an introduction to military service and our way of life. AES 221 is an introduction into team and leadership fundamentals, focusing on followership, listening, researching leadership styles and developing your own. Each course is worth 1 semester hour. AES 331 focuses on leading people and practicing effective communication. This is your first class as a cadet in the Professional Officers Course or POC. Rounding out your AFROTC education is AES 431, a course designed for college seniors and gives them the foundation to understand their role as military officers in American society. It is an overview of the complex social and political issues facing the military profession and requires a measure of sophistication commensurate with the senior college level.
