Affiliate Faculty
We encourage students to add an interdisciplinary dimension to their studies in history. Affiliate faculty teach historically informed courses in other departments of the university which may, with departmental approval, be substituted for some degree requirements. These faculty are also available to serve as second readers on graduate committees.

Matthew Smith
Visiting Assistant Professor of Department of Humanities and Creative Arts at Hamilton Campus. Specializes in American religious history, the Ohio Valley, and trans-Atlantic immigration.

Associate professor of Department of Humanities and Creative Arts at Hamilton Campus. Specializes in peasant politics and societies, anti-Semitism, Historical GIS (Geographic Information System), and 19th century Germany.
