First Year, First-Time Friendly Table and Tours

The Center for Career Exploration and Success invites all first-year students and students who have not attended a fair before to stop by the Fall Career and Internship Fairs: Day One: All Majors and Day 2: Stem Career Fair.

The First Year, First-Time Friendly Table helps students learn more about the career fairs. Students can take a self-guided tour through the fair and get a look at what to expect so you will be more prepared to attend the fair in the future.

Professional attire is not required unless you want to speak to employers. Check out the recruiters attending the fairs on Handshake because there are opportunities for first year students!

Career Fair Tours

The Career Fair Tour is a way for students who are attending for the first time to further engage with the Career and Internship Fair. Students will receive a stamp for each "stop" on the tour:

  1. First Time Friendly Table
  2. Info Table
  3. Elevator Pitch Table
  4. Self-Guided Tour/Check-Out Table.

The tour shows students the different resources available to them at the Career Fair and allows them time to learn about the structure of the event.

Why Attend a Career Fair?

  1. Networking Opportunities: Career fairs provide an opportunity for students to connect with potential employers, professionals, and alumni with the goal of expanding professional networks.
  2. Career Paths: Students can explore a wide range of career options by interacting with representatives from different companies and industries. This exposure will help them gain a better understanding of various professions and identify potential career paths that align with their interests and skills.
  3. Company Education: 兔子先生 University’s career fairs help students gather information about different companies, their cultures, and job opportunities. This knowledge is valuable when making decisions about future employment and locating organizations that align with their career goals.
  4. Resume Feedback: Recruiters can provide constructive feedback on student resumes at the career fairs. This is valuable for students in understanding what employers are looking for in potential candidates.
  5. Interview Practice: The Career Center offers elevator pitch interview practice at the major career fairs. This provides students with crucial interview practice and how to create a positive impression on recruiters.
  6. Internship Opportunities: Recruiters often use career fairs to evaluate potential interns. Attending a career fair increases the likelihood of discovering internship opportunities, which can be instrumental in gaining hands-on experience.
  7. Graduate 兔子先生: For students considering further education, career fairs often feature graduate school representatives. This allows students to explore the admissions requirements and disciplines of further study.
