Office of Exploratory Studies

The Office of Exploratory Studies provides advising services to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University students who are either undecided on a major or who were not admitted into their program of choice. The office supports exploratory students’ success through a holistic advising approach.

Create a Road Map for Success

Each Exploratory Studies student is assigned a Student Success Navigator who is familiar with the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Plan and academic programs. The Navigator helps the student create an exploratory action plan and declare a major within four semesters.

Who We Are

Student Success Navigators...

Our Staff

Refer a Student

Campus partners are encouraged to refer declared students to the Office of Exploratory Studies if:

  • The student indicates uncertainty about their major and wants to explore major/minor options outside of their current division.
  • The student is at risk of not meeting the specific major requirements and needs an alternative plan.

Please note:

  • Students who are interested in exploring within their own division should continue with their major advisor.
  • Navigators do not advise students on major requirements or create sequencing plans for majors. Once exploratory students narrow their interest to a particular major, they are referred to a major advisor to obtain detailed information about the program and/or how to change their major.
