Special Education Major

Special education is one of the fastest-growing careers in the nation. More than 80 percent of the largest school districts in the country report an immediate need for inclusive special education teachers.

Remote Teaching for K-12 Certificate

Blended, online, and remote learning environments are now prevalent in K12 learning.  Blended and remote learning enables teachers to extend and expand the classroom and to support more personalized learning.

Disability Studies Minor

Gain knowledge of special education including courses in behavior management, career and lifespan education, assessment and overview of exceptionalities. Practicum and student teaching experiences are not required (non-licensure minor). Open to all university students except Special Education majors.

Special Education Minor

This interdisciplinary minor offers a broad liberal arts approach to the study of disability, providing students with knowledge of the historical, social, artistic, literary, legal, educational, philosophical, and political framing of disability.

Counselor Education, M.Ed.

New! Counselor Education offers opportunities for students to earn a graduate degree specializing in either Clinical Mental Health or School Counseling. 

Learning Sciences and Human Development, M.Ed.

Educational psychologists influence what we know about the human condition, the world of educational assessment, contexts for teaching and learning, instructional design and development, influences of brain development on learning, and human development.

School Psychology M.S., Ed.S.

School psychology is a NASP/CAEP accredited, combined Master's and Educational Specialist (EdS) degree program. Students gain training in assessment, intervention, consultation, mental health counseling, and research methodology.

Learning Technologies, M.Ed.

Leverage the power of technology and media to engage K-12 students in meaningful learning. Whether you're a novice or an advanced user of technology, we'll focus on the individual needs of each teacher and support each teacher's practice.

Special Education Licensure and M.Ed.

Whether you are seeking your initial special education licensure, adding to your existing Ohio license, or looking for an online master's degree, there is a convenient program option to advance your career in special education.

Graduate Certificates

College Teaching

Earn a graduate certificate in College Teaching to better develop yourself as a teacher-scholar. Open to both graduate students and postdoctoral fellows alike, mentor-guided students will select courses in interdisciplinary pedagogy and learning theory in addition to discipline-specific teaching experiences. Students may be able to double count hours toward their degree pursuit.

Mental Health Intervention

This certificate program will equip learners with not only theoretical knowledge of mental health intervention and counseling, but also applied helping skills to support individuals’ well-being and mental health.
