Climate Accounting and Engineering Minor
Description
The Climate Accounting and Engineering minor provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to help organizations, either as employees or external consultants, identify, reliably measure and faithfully represent the environmental impact of their direct and indirect activities. The accountancy courses included in the minor will provide students with an understanding of key concepts relating to the identification, measurement and reporting of information for decision-making along with an opportunity to apply those concepts in the context of organizations' environmental impact. The engineering courses included in the minor will provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate an design systems for reducing environmental impact and assess the impact of such systems in comparison to the best and reasonably available control technology standards (BACT, RACT).
Minor Information
- 18 credit hours
- Open to all majors
- You must have a 2.00 GPA for all courses in the minor
- Accountancy majors must take 9 credit hours of CPB courses that do not overlap with the Accountancy major
- Environmental Engineering minors must take 9 credit hours of ACC courses
- Students who completed MTH 141 as a prerequisite for CPB 244 will need to submit a Registration Override Request (ROR); students who completed MTH 151 will self-register
- Non-Accountancy majors will need to submit a ROR to access ACC 333 and ACC 453
- Students do not need to complete the CHM 144 lab alongside CHM 144 as a prerequisite for CPB 244
- Some minor courses may be offered in Fall or Spring only
