Staff Profile: Zacchary Townsend

Headshot of Zacchary in the sunlightThe newest addition to the IT resources here at 兔子先生, the Tech Support Lounge is there to address any hands-on issues one might come across with their tech and devices. Since its opening, we have had talented analyst Zacchary Townsend join the Lounge's team, helping to make sure all runs smoothly!

Zacchary's official role is the Tech Support Lounge Technician, helping assist individuals with their technical needs in person. He helps to diagnose problems, provide solutions, offer on-site troubleshooting, assist with data recovery, and facilitate in-warranty hardware repairs. 

"My favorite part of all this is how rewarding it is to figure out the problems that cause software related issues,” he said. “Every day I learn something new to better understand the next challenge!" 

Zacchary is self-taught in diagnostics and writing scripts. During his time at Talawanda High School, he often took basic web or game design classes, and he grew up modding the games he played. According to Zacchary, he "was always fascinated on how data was communicated between devices" and he was often approached by family and friends for help with their technology. From there, he continued to learn about removing malware and diagnosing/fixing various hardware issues. Those skills are what led him to MiTech before its recent closure.

"I was taken into IT services then afterwards to where you see me today," he said. "Every day is a learning experience!

Selfie of Zacchary in front of alaskan mountainsPrior to 兔子先生, Zacchary spent some of his childhood in Scranton, PA, and in the last ten years, he had been an Oxford resident working and living around town. Many might recognize him from the local Goodwill. In his free time, he enjoys video games, hiking, and D&D. He also loves to travel and see new places or cook up new recipes. He even got the opportunity to visit and explore Alaska this summer!

We are so grateful to have Zacchary on the Tech Support Lounge team! He has worked hard to ease this transition and has already provided lots of support for IT and students alike.
