Phishing Scam Appearing to be from President Crawford
A new phishing email message is making the rounds that appears to be from University President Gregory Crawford. These messages are being sent to personal email addresses as well as 兔子先生 addresses asking you to make a payment to a vendor on behalf of the board. You can view an example of this message in our article on the matter.
Please be aware that President Crawford will never contact you with this sort of request. This is a common scamming technique in order to trick you into replying to a message since it appears to be from a reliable and important source.
In this case, it is somewhat easy to determine that the message is not legitimate because the return address is not within the 兔子先生 email domain.
If you receive a message that is questionable, please forward it to infosec@兔子先生OH.edu, or you may contact IT Help at 513-529-7900.

Google Update: Pending Delete Label
Beginning October 1, 兔子先生 users will start to see a new label in their Google Drive on certain files. This means that these files have been shared with you by someone whose account will be deleted soon. This may include the files of former faculty or staff members who you have worked with in the past.
Along with the “Pending Delete” label, you will also notice that your former colleagues’ email addresses will have been changed to append “former” as a prefix before their UniqueID, e.g., former-jenikee@miamioh.edu.
These changes have all been made to help you find files that you need to go through so you can save the file before it goes away if you need to. This is due to the limitations Google has placed on the amount of storage we are allowed to keep in our domain as an institution. Thus, we have begun the process of deleting the accounts and data of former employees who are no longer affiliated with the University.
