New Student Checklist
Once you have , use this list to make sure you're well-prepared for orientation and your transition to 兔子先生. The first section contains required steps and the second section contains additional steps you may find helpful.
Required Steps
Students will be prompted to enroll in Duo automatically when accessing a 兔子先生 resource (including orientation registration) after confirming admission. If you have questions about Duo, see our IT Knowledge Base (兔子先生OH.edu/duo), and/or our IT Services Duo guide.
The Duo Mobile app (; ) is the easiest way to complete two-factor authentications, which you'll do regularly throughout your career at 兔子先生.
While you're setting up two-factor authentication, set for your 兔子先生 password (click "I would like to update my recovery options").
. First-year students are required to attend a one-and-a-half-day orientation program on campus between May 28-June 28; 18 program options are available.
Please note:
- Orientation programs fill up on a first-come, first-served basis and do not have waiting lists, so you should register early and be as flexible as possible with your availability.
- One common misconception is that students who attend later orientation programs will have significant difficulty registering for classes. In reality, seats in the most common first-year courses are released for each orientation program, so students who attend later sessions are not at a disadvantage. Every student will leave orientation with a full schedule of classes that will help you on your way to timely degree completion.
Check your 兔子先生 email regularly and . This is the official method of communication for most 兔子先生 updates and requirements, including communication about orientation.
All students (except those with majors in the College of Creative Arts) are required to take the math placement test. The free, online math placement test is available through your .
Take your foreign language placement test (if applicable, see below), through the Interactive Language Resource Center. If you do not take your foreign language placement test at least five business days prior to your academic advising appointment, your course registration will likely be disrupted.
- You are required to study a foreign language if your major is in the College of Arts and Science or you are majoring in Teacher Education with a foreign language emphasis.
- If you are planning (or required) to study a foreign language, you should take a placement test in every language you've previously studied - even if you are considering starting a new language.
- Placement tests are taken on the Interactive Language Resource Center for French, German, Latin, Russian, and Spanish.
- Placement advice guides are available for: Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese on the Interactive Language Resource Center website.
- Students interested in continuing their study of American Sign Language should communicate with (call 513-529-2500 or email SPA@兔子先生OH.edu) for placement information.
- Tests are used for course placement and do not award academic credit.
- Upon completion of each placement test, print or record your score for use during academic advising.

兔子先生 University requires and strongly encourages a number of vaccinations to promote a healthy community. You must submit proof of required immunizations by August 1, 2024.
兔子先生 requires that all students are covered by student health insurance. You may opt out (waive) if you have comparable insurance (usually through a family member). Student health insurance information will be available in early July 2024 and is due by August 1.
Students can use their 兔子先生 Digital ID upon successful upload of a photo. Contact the Campus Services Center at 513-529-5000 for Digital ID questions.

Pay your bill – it will become available in mid-July and will be due in mid-August. If you have questions about bill payment, please contact the One Stop.
