Search begins for new dean of the College of Education, Health, and Society

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University has launched a national search for the next dean of College of Education, Health, and Society (EHS), partnering with the executive search firm Storbeck Search and Associates. 

Provost Elizabeth Mullenix has appointed a search committee which is chaired by Beena Sukumaran, dean of the College of Engineering and Computing. Other members of the search committee include:

  • Babs Dwyer, undergraduate student
  • Loren May, alumni for EHS Advisory Council
  • Melissa Chase, chair and professor, Department of Sport ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip and Management
  • Paul Branscum, professor, Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health
  • Erica Fernandez, associate professor, Department of Educational ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip
  • Shawnieka Pope, assistant clinical professor, Department of Family Science and Social Work
  • Kelli Rushek, assistant professor, Department of Teaching Curriculum and Educational Inquiry
  • Sarah Watt, associate professor, Department of Educational Psychology
  • Jessica Williamson, unclassified staff
  • Elizabeth Hurrell, classified staff

The College of Education, Health, and Society (EHS) was founded in 1902 as the first professional school of ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University and one of the first teacher education schools in Ohio. EHS enrolls 2,400 undergraduates and 600 graduate students, with 120 full-time faculty members and 60 staff members. The college comprises six academic departments: Educational ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip; Educational Psychology; Family Science and Social Work; Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Health; Sport ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip and Management; and Teaching, Curriculum, and Educational Inquiry.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú seeks an exceptional leader with a strong record of collaboration, a forward-looking vision, and significant academic accomplishments and administrative experience.
