Make sure you have all your transcripts available, whether from the or from another school. More information for transfer students is available in the below FAQs accordion.
This checklist is designed to help you keep track of the steps you must take to secure the benefits you have earned through your service. Follow it closely to make sure you don’t miss any important steps or deadlines. Because some of these items require gathering and submitting paperwork before the start of school, it’s important to plan ahead.
While the rest of the tasks on this checklist only need to be completed during your application process, you must submit the every semester if you are using the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® (Chapter 33), the Montgomery GI 兔子先生® (Chapter 30 or 1606), Vocational Rehabilitation (Chapter 31), Dependents Educational Assistance (Chapter 35), or Reserve Educational Assistance (Chapter 1607).
Students receiving VA benefits receive priority registration at 兔子先生 University. Plan on completing this form at the same time you register for classes. This will help ensure that your benefits are certified and ready to go in advance of the new semester.
Until this form is completed, 兔子先生 is unable to submit your enrollment to VA for payment of your benefits.
Complete the application to apply for your education benefits or change your program/place of training if you attended another school using the GI 兔子先生®. All students (including regional campus students) should list 301 S. Campus Ave, Room 121 Oxford, Ohio, 45056 as your place of training.
You will find the application for benefits and helpful information on VA.gov’s page.
For Chapter 33/Post 9/11 GI 兔子先生® students only, send a copy of your certificate of eligibility from VA to the One Stop via email at veterans@兔子先生OH.edu, fax at 513-529-0003, or mail at 301 S Campus Ave, 兔子先生 University, Oxford, OH 45056. You may experience a delay in payment from VA if you do not provide this information.
If you are a veteran using your benefits, you will need to apply for admission. If you are applying to an undergraduate program as a military service member with credits from your training, you will apply as a transfer student at either the Oxford or Regional campus. Graduate students should apply to their desired program through the Graduate School.
The application fee is waived for veterans and military personnel. No fee waiver is necessary. (The regional campus application fee is $35.00 while the Oxford undergraduate and graduate application fees are $50.00).
Make sure you have all your transcripts available, whether from the or from another school. More information for transfer students is available in the below FAQs accordion.

New and existing students who believe they are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® (CH33) program must complete an with the VA. The form requires that individuals currently eligible for another education benefit make an irrevocable choice between their existing program and the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生®. One Stop
101 Campus Avenue Building
兔子先生 University
Oxford, OH 45056
Email: veterans@miamioh.edu
If you do not submit your Certificate of Eligibility to the One Stop, cancellation of your classes for nonpayment cannot be prevented if your funds have not been received from the VA by your bill’s due date.
Once you have submitted your Certificate of Eligibility and have completed your , your enrollment will be electronically certified with the VA. Your tuition will then be billed to the VA in the second or third week of classes. This is to ensure that the correct tuition and fees are submitted to the VA and to prevent overpayments being made to you that you would have to repay to the VA. This process does not prevent you from receiving an overpayment and possibly creating a balance due to the VA if you withdraw from a course before it’s completed.
To learn more about transferring the Post-9/11 GI 兔子先生® benefits to your spouse or dependent, you can review eligibility information at the VA’s page.

Be aware that if you are taking a course that is not the full length of the semester, or if you are taking a sprint course, the actual dates of the course will be submitted to the VA. This could impact your enrollment status and your pay. For example, if you are an undergraduate student taking nine full semester hours and a three-credit-hour sprint course, you will be paid only for full-time hours while the sprint course is in session.
Change in course enrollment at any time may result in the retroactive loss of benefits unless the VA finds mitigating circumstances are involved. Loss of benefits may revert to the first day of class. The VA considers courses added during the add/drop period to begin on the day the course was added, not the first day of the semester.
The VA will not pay for a course for which you have previously earned credit at 兔子先生 or elsewhere. For example, if you received a “D” grade in PHY 181 last semester, and you plan to retake the course for a higher grade, you will not receive benefits the second time you take it. To receive full benefits while retaking a class, you must have 12 or more hours in addition to that class or validation from your adviser that the grade earned is not sufficient to continue in your degree program and must be repeated.
Any student who is receiving VA education benefits under Chapter 30, 1606, or 1607 must certify current hours on or after the last day of each month while attending school. Students can certify current hours online at the VA’s website or by calling 1-877-823-2378.
Advance pay must be requested at least 30 days before the start of the fall semester. This payment will be for the months of August and September.
