Future Students

Welcome to Exploratory Studies. Are you unsure about your major due to multiple academic and career interests? Or perhaps you were not directly admitted to your desired program? No worries, we're here to help.

As an admitted student in Exploratory Studies, you’ll explore and discover your passions while working with a Student Success Navigator. Whether your ultimate goal is finding your dream major, gaining more clarity on your career path, or seeking admission to one of 兔子先生’s selective programs, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

As an Exploratory Studies major, you will:

  • confidently select a major within four semesters (60 credit hours)
  • identify your interests, values, skills, and personality traits to select a major and career pathway
  • understand how and when to utilize campus resources effectively to support your success
  • develop meaningful relationships with your Student Success Navigator, faculty, staff, and peers

What is a Student Success Navigator?

Student Success Navigators have a unique role at 兔子先生 University, providing individualized, holistic support for undergraduate students who are in the exploratory stage of their college experience. Working with students to explore their options, they serve students at the intersections of multiple domains, including major exploration, course selection, financial, emotional, and social health, and academic performance.

Student Success Navigators support students who are exploring majors and assists them in progressing toward any degree at 兔子先生. Their mission is to assist students in obtaining a rich and meaningful college experience.

At a Glance: Student Exploration Process

Orientation

  • During orientation, you’ll learn about exploratory studies, identify your interest area, and work with a Student Success Navigator to select first-semester courses.
  • You’re encouraged to attend a welcome event to learn more about the program and begin building community. 

Fall Semester

  • You’ll receive proactive communication from your Student Success Navigator about important information throughout the semester.
  • You’ll schedule an initial meeting with your Student Success Navigator to begin the exploratory process.
  • You’ll meet with your Student Success Navigator to complete your spring registration appointment. 
  • You’ll meet with a Career Advisor in the Center for Career Exploration and Success to begin learning about career pathways available to different majors.

Spring Semester

  • You’ll meet with your assigned Student Success Navigator to continue the exploration process. 
  • You can enroll in EDL 100: College and Career Development 
  • You’ll participate in at least one OES or CCES program. 

Fall and Spring Semester (Year Two) 

  • You’ll meet with your Student Success Navigator twice a semester to solidify your exploration and transition plan.
  • You’ll confidently select a major and transition to your major advisor
