Exchange Process Overview

  1. Students should work with their home university for nomination procedure months in advance of the application deadline.
  2. 15-30 days or more before the application deadline, partner institutions should send nominee information and/or questions about the exchange/visiting student program to international@兔子先生OH.edu.
  3. Exchange and visiting student nominees will complete a program application and/or confirmation online. Please, according to your program, carefully follow the instructions below to complete the Exchange Student Admission process.

Application Deadlines

Because visa document issuance and visa applications take time, it is important to apply for admission as early as possible. Exchange and/or Agreement Partners should send student nominations at least 15-30 days before the application deadline. Exchange applications from student nominees should be completed according to following timeline.

  • April 1 for starting in the fall semester (August-December) or the full academic year (August-May).
  • October 1 for starting in the spring semester (January-May).

Course Offerings and Selection

Students typically take 12-16 credit hours during each exchange semester at 兔子先生. A typical course is 3 credit hours.

兔子先生 offers a variety of courses in five academic divisions: Arts and Science; Creative Arts; Education, Health and Society; Engineering and Computing; Farmer School of Business.

Course descriptions and prerequisite information can be accessed on the .

Course offerings by term can be accessed at the . Students are encouraged to be flexible with course selections. Placement in courses cannot be guaranteed until the time of registration. Courses may have limited seats for enrollment, pre-requisites for enrollment, or only be offered during certain semesters.

Course Fees Not Subject to Exchange Benefit

An overload fee is charged for enrollment above 18 credit hours. The overload fee is not covered by exchange benefits. Some classes may also have additional lab or other material fees that are not covered by exchange benefits. Additionally, classes that are part of market-driven tuition programs are not covered by exchange benefits. Be sure to check the course information when registering.

Note also that course tuition for Winter Term or Summer Term are not covered by exchange benefits.

Exchange and Visiting Student Application Instructions

ISEP Exchange

Have this document ready:

  • A copy of the biographical page of your passport
  1. After you have completed the ISEP application process, watch for an email from 兔子先生 University’s inbound exchange coordinator with instructions for starting the 兔子先生 exchange process. Do not start the process until you have received this email.
  2. Follow instructions in the email to login to , 兔子先生’s system of online services for international students.
  3. Complete the Exchange Student Confirmation, uploading the biographical page of your passport. The exchange coordinator will also refer to your application materials in the ISEP portal.
  4. Apply for on-campus housing and confirm your placement in the ISEP portal.
  5. ISEP will create and issue your DS-2019 document. Please contact ISEP for questions about DS-2019 issuance.  
  6. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
  7. Prior to your arrival or before starting classes, you will work with a 兔子先生 University academic advisor in your field of study to register for courses.
  8. Check your 兔子先生 email regularly for information about arrival and orientation, and let us know if you have questions!

Kansai Gaidai University, Dual-Degree

Have these documents ready:

  1. After you have been nominated by your institution, watch for an email from the 兔子先生 International Admissions Office with instructions on completing the international transfer application.
  2. Complete the application. Kansai Gaidai transfer students do not pay the application fee and may submit written proof of English language proficiency from a professor or academic staff member at your institution.
  3. After you have applied, watch for an email from 兔子先生 containing a link to your personalized Applicant Status Page.
  4. Use this status page to monitor your application checklist and to confirm that 兔子先生 has received all materials necessary for your application. When your admission decision is released, check your status page for a digital copy of your admission decision letter.
  5. Once admitted, watch for instructions on applying for housing and confirming your admission. Kansai Gaidai students are required to live on campus.
  6. Watch for instructions from ISSS about a separate application form to create your immigration document. Please follow the instructions in the email from ISSS and be prepared to upload the biographical page of your passport and your evidence of funding.
  7. The ISSS exchange coordinator will create and issue your DS-2019 document.
  8. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
  9. Prior to your arrival or before starting classes, you will work with a 兔子先生 University academic advisor in your field of study to register for courses.
  10. Check your 兔子先生 email regularly for information about arrival and orientation, and let us know if you have questions!

Kansai Gaidai University, Non-Degree

Have these documents ready:

  1. After you have been nominated by your home institution, watch for an email from the 兔子先生 University’s inbound exchange coordinator with instructions for completing the application. Do not start the process until you have received this email.
  2. Follow the instructions in the email to log in to , 兔子先生’s system of online services for international students.
  3. Complete the Exchange Student Application, uploading the required documents listed above.
  4. If your application meets 兔子先生’s admission criteria, you will receive an email from the exchange coordinator offering you admission.
  5. Following instructions in that email:
    1. Apply for on-campus housing (Kansai Gaidai students are required to live on campus) and
    2. Confirm your offer of admission in . 
  6. The ISSS exchange coordinator will create and issue your DS-2019 document.
  7. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
  8. Prior to your arrival, you will work with an academic advisor in your area of study to register for courses.
  9. Check your 兔子先生 email regularly for information about arrival and orientation, and let us know if you have questions!

University of Luxembourg, Non-Degree

Have these documents ready:

  1. After you have been nominated by your home institution, watch for an email from the 兔子先生 University’s inbound exchange coordinator with instructions for completing the application. Do not start the process until you have received this email.
  2. Follow instructions in the email to login to , 兔子先生’s system of online services for international students. Note: Graduate students will also need to gain admission through the. 
  3. Complete the Exchange Student Application, uploading the required documents listed above.
  4. If your application meets 兔子先生’s admission criteria, you will receive an email from the exchange coordinator offering you admission.
  5. Following instructions in that email, submit Exchange Confirmation:
    1. Confirm your housing plans and offer of admission in . 
  6. The ISSS exchange coordinator will create and issue your DS-2019 document.
  7. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
  8. Prior to your arrival, you will work with an academic advisor in your area of stugy to register for courses.
  9. Check your 兔子先生 email regularly for information about arrival and orientation, and let us know if you have questions!

LUNEX, Graduate Certificate

Have these documents ready:

  1. After you have been nominated by your institution, watch for an email from the 兔子先生 Graduate Admissions Office with instructions on completing the graduate application.
  2. Complete the application. LUNEX certificate students do not pay the application fee. 
  3. After you have applied, watch for an email from 兔子先生 containing a link to your personalized status page.
  4. Use this status page to monitor your application checklist and to confirm that 兔子先生 has received all materials necessary for your application. When your admission decision is released, check your status page for a digital copy of your admission decision letter.
  5. Once admitted, watch for instructions from ISSS about a separate application form to create your immigration document. Please follow instructions in the email from ISSS and be prepared to upload the biographical page of your passport and your evidence of funding.
  6. The ISSS exchange coordinator will create and issue your DS-2019 document.
  7. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.

  1. After you have been nominated by your home institution, watch for an email from 兔子先生 University’s inbound exchange coordinator with instructions for completing the application. Do not start the process until you have received this email.
  2. Follow instructions in the email to login to , 兔子先生’s system of online services for international students.
  3. Complete the Exchange Student Application, uploading the required documents listed above.
  4. If your application meets 兔子先生’s admission criteria, you will receive an email from the exchange coordinator offering you admission. Following instructions in that email, submit Exchange Confirmation:
    1. Apply for on-campus housing (if you are living on campus) and
    2. Confirm your offer of admission in .
  5. The exchange coordinator will create your DS-2019 document and mail it to you along with your admission letter.
  6. Upon receipt of the DS-2019, pay the I-901 SEVIS fee and schedule your visa appointment.
  7. Prior to your arrival or before starting classes, you will work with a 兔子先生 University academic advisor in your field of study to register for courses.

Estimated Expenses

The amounts listed below reflect estimated costs of living expenses for study at 兔子先生 University for DS-2019 issuance. Estimated living expenses vary according to exchange program, but may include: housing, food, transportation, books, supplies, health insurance, and other miscellaneous costs. These figures are subject to increase.

Under the terms of the exchange agreement with Kansai Gaidai University, students pay housing and dining charges to their home institution rather than 兔子先生 University, so these costs are not included in the estimate. Kansai Gaidai 2-year transfer students must provide evidence of funds to cover the two years of the program.

Housing

Exchange students living on-campus are typically housed in Standard Double rooms and are given the Diplomat Standard meal plan. If you select premium housing or a larger meal plan, you will be responsible for the additional costs. See Housing and Dining for more information about on-campus housing and dining options.

Exchange students planning to live off-campus should review information about arranging off-campus housing.

Health Insurance

All international students will be automatically enrolled in the 兔子先生-sponsored student health insurance plan. ISEP-sponsored insurance will be approved for an insurance waiver for the 兔子先生-sponsored health insurance plan. This health insurance requirement helps to protect students from the high cost of health care in the United States. 兔子先生's insurance plan is an excellent plan that is accepted at the student health center and the local hospital, as well as other local providers.

Orientation and Arrival

All incoming exchange students are expected to join an orientation program with other new international students that includes information on: life in the U.S., community standards, academic expectations, visa regulations, 兔子先生 support services and building social connections. Additionally,students will receive email newsletters and access to online modules with helpful information to prepare for arrival and starting at 兔子先生.
