Graduate Writing Consultants

Eleanor is a first year Master's student in integrated English language arts education to become a high school English teacher. She graduated from ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú with majors in English literature and creative writing. In her free time she likes to hike, knit or crochet, and obsess over various TV shows.

Emily is a second-year PhD student in the English Literature program. She primarily studies the long nineteenth-century, focusing on gender, materiality, and public/private spaces.

Parisa Ad. (she/her) is a Ph.D. candidate in English Literature. Her research interests include contemporary women writers' literature, diaspora, and postcolonial studies. Prior to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, she worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Cincinnati's Writing Center. She has years of experience as an ESL/EFL instructor, and she speaks five languages. She is passionate about learning new things and helping her peers.

Reynie is a second-year MFA student studying Poetry. His academic interests include contemporary fiction, film, visual art, and first-year writing courses. He writes entertainment articles for The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Student in his free time.

Ally is a Business Analytics Grad Student, who studied Diplomacy and Russian Studies in undergrad. After finishing her degree, Ally will be working as a cybersecurity consultant in Chicago. This semester, Ally is fostering George, a service dog in training. George may be sitting quietly with Ally during consultations.

Undergraduate Writing Consultants

Abby(she/her) is a junior Human Capital Management and ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip major.She is an active member of the service fraternity on campus, Alpha Phi Omega. She enjoys reading YA/adult fiction in her free time. After college, she would like to work in HR for Disney.

Alyssa (she/her) is a junior Integrated ELA Education major with a minor in Photography and is working on a TESOL endorsement.She is the president of Wish Upon a Star, and is also involved in NCTE and Sigma Tau Delta. In her free time, Alyssa loves hiking, running, watching New Girl, and reading!

Brooklynn (she/they) is a junior double-majoring in Creative Writing and Media and Communication. After school hours, she loves drawing, reading and writing fiction, and analyzing movies she's watched. Brook is an aspiring author of fantasy and science fiction.

Caroline is a fourth-year Strategic Communications major with a minor in general business.Outside of the Howe, she works as a marketing intern an HR Firm and serves as alumni chairman in her sorority. In her free time she enjoys going on walks, spending time outside and reading novels.

Cassell (she/her) is a sophomore honors college student, double-majoring in Creative Writing and Psychology with a minor in Rhetoric/Writing. She’s involved in the Honors Student Advisory Board, Stage Left, and Happy Captive Magazine. She enjoys writing fiction and poetry. After graduating, she hopes to become an editor and publish books.

Charlotte (she/her) is a second-year English literature and Philosophy studentwith a French minor. Outside of class, she is the treasurer for the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta, and is a Scholar Leader. In her free time, Charlotte likes to read essays, bake macarons, and hike new trails.

Cole (he/him) is a Marketing and Emerging Technology in Business and Design double major with a minor in Writing/Rhetoric. Cole is actively involved in Pi Sigma Epsilon business fraternity, UP Magazine, and the Armstrong Student Center Board. In Cole's free time, he is an avid hammocker, reader, and designer.

Danny is a fourth-year majoring in Sport ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúhip and Management,with minors in Business and Coaching. He also interns for the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Athletic Program in the Corporate Partnerships division. In his free time he loves to golf, play cards with friends, and listen to music.

Evan (he/him) is a senior undergraduate student majoring in Biology and Neuroscience. He is interested in all sorts of research, philosophy, and creative writing. Outside of school and work, he enjoys reading, free-writing, and looking for things outside (e.g. rocks, coins).

Felix (he/him they/them) is a second-year in Data Analytics with a concentration in Bioinformatics, as well as a minor in computer science. He is a member of Botanical Society club, Visual Arts club, and Rock Climbing club. Outside of school (and his clubs) Felix enjoys spending his free time reading novels, manga, and manhwas.

Isaiah (They/Them) is a Theatre and Creative Writing double major. Outside of class, they enjoy writing plays, as well reading fantasy and magical realism. Isaiah also participates in several clubs, including Walking Theatre Project as well as being on the editorial staff of Inklings.

Izzy (she/her) is a senior Kinesiology major with a minor in Anthropology. After her time at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú, she hopes to attend graduate school for Occupational Therapy, travel all over the world, and adopt a cat! Izzy is a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She enjoys reading and watching movies in her free time.

J is a freshman pursuing a political science and history double major with a classics minor from southwest Ohio. She enjoys writing short stories and reading historical non-fiction. Once she graduates, J hopes to continue her education in law school.

Jessica (she/her) is a senior English Education major with a minor in creative writing. She is a member of Tri Delta, Threshold Choir, NCTE, Cinci Smiles and the Honors College. Her aspirations include teaching in a high school English classroom and publishing a novel written in poetry or verse. In her free time, she enjoys writing, singing, going to farmers’ markets, and crafting.

Julia (she/her) is a senior double major in English Education and English Literature.She is president of Sigma Tau Delta: English Honors fraternity, as well as PR chair of NCTE (National Council of Teachers in English). In her free time, she loves reading and scrapbooking, and she recently pursued an educational research project over the summer. She aspires to become a high school English teacher.

Kade (all pronouns) is a fourth-year double majoring in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies; and Data Science and Statistics. Kade is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and enjoys reading modern literature, 19th century Russian classics, and comics. They would love to consult with more creative writing, personal statements and presentations, business writing, and multimodal presentations and speeches.

Katie B. (they/she) is a third-year Emerging Tech in Business and Design (ETBD) and Professional Writing double major with a minor in Creative Writing. They are an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy novels or webcomics, enjoys listening to audiobooks and audio dramas, and loves writing screenplays, poetry, and short stories in her freetime.

Katie D. (she/her) is a junior Biology and Psychology double major and a molecular biology minor. In her free time she enjoys reading romance novels, dancing, spending time with her friends and family as well as her dog, Finn. She also spends her time in Dr. Castillo's lab researching the genetical components of reproductive behavior for fruit flies. After graduation she plans to attend graduate school for a MS in genetic counseling.

Kelsie is a sophomore Honors Speech Pathology & Audiology major with a Spanish minor. She is an active member of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú community, belonging to HSAB, Striders Running Club, and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. In her free time, she loves to run, read, and cook.

Kendyl (she/her) is a junior with triple majors in Psychology and Education Studies and Professional Writing. She is also involved with HSAB and the Presidential Fellows Project on campus. In her free time, Kendyl is an avid reader of realistic fiction novels and writer of poetry. She plans to attend graduate school to pursue a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Kennedy is a first-year honors student, double majoring in English: Professional Writing and Speech Pathology & Audiology. Outside of class, she is an avid reader of dystopian fiction and romance novels. Kennedy is an aspiring leader in ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú. She is the Diversity Affairs Council (DAC) Treasurer, a member of the Social Cultural Committee in the Black Student Action Association (BSAA), and a part of the National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA). She frequently volunteers and rewatches old movies and western shows in her free time.

Kerigan (she/her) is a second-year double-majoring in Professional Writing and History with a minor in American Studies. She is in the HASS Scholars Program, participates in Cru, and is a member of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Mock Trial team. She loves reading and writing about history, and writes the history column for a kids’ music magazine. Once she graduates, Kerigan hopes to attend law school and write for a legal journal.

Kylie is a senior double majoring in English Literature and Professional Writing. In her free time, she is Co-President of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Intercollegiate Skating team, reads a variety of fiction and fantasy novels, and loves writing poetry and short stories.

Marissa (she/they) is a sophomore Computer Science major with a minor in statistical methods and rhetoric/writing. She is a reader for ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú’s Happy Captive Magazine and loves to read fiction books in her free time. They hope to work as a Data Scientist when they graduate and would love to consult some research papers!

Meredith is a senior double-majoring in Diplomacy & Global Politics and English: Creative Writing with minors in French and History.Outside of consulting, she is ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Political Review's Editor-in-Chief, a food and opinion columnist with The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Student, a campus tour guide, and an freelance opinion writer. Her consulting interests include fellowship/grad school application essays (she's a Fulbright UKSI alum!), business writing, cover letters, resumes, Op-Eds, and argumentative essays.

Nick (he/him) is a sophomore majoring in Computer Science.Nick loves to write in many forms including creative writing, research papers, argumentative writing, and speech writing. Nick’s interests include filmmaking, editing, playing games, and walking. Post graduation, he hopes to work on developing games or apps.

Sophie (she/her) is a fourth-year English Literature student co-majoring in Sustainability and minoring in Marketing. She is involved in Choraliers, Sigma Tau Delta, and The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Student in which she writes for the sustainability column, GreenHawks. She loves to work with writers on personal statements, cover letters, literary analyses, resumes, and brainstorming!

Trudy (she/her) is an English Education and English Creative Writing double major from Cincinnati, Ohio. She is a member of NCTE SAM, the Striders Running Club, and is President of the MU Dropouts Skydiving Club. She has run marathons and ultramarathons in her spare time. She enjoys running, reading, hiking, lifting, and traveling. She aspires to teach high school English and continue her love of learning and writing.

Winnie (she/her) is a senior Strategic Communication and Professional Writing double major with a Spanish minor.Outside of the Howe, Winnie is on the executive board for PRSSA, a member of Women in Marketing and Greek Life. She loves spending time with her friends uptown and playing pickleball in her free time.

Jack is a junior Finance major with a minor in accounting from the Farmer School of Business. He is from Cleveland, Ohio and loves watching sports, working out and spending time with friends when he's not in class.

Morgan (she/her) is a junior Speech-Language Pathology major. She is also involved with NSSLHA (national student speech language and hearing association) on campus, and is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority. In her free time, Morgan loves to spend time with her friends, working out, shopping, and photography.

Rylee is a senior Communication Design major with minors in Digital Marketing and Studio art. Rylee is from Fairfield, OH and In her free time she enjoys screenprinting, thrifting, and spending time with friends and family.

Sarah (she/her) is a junior double majoring in Biochemistry and Psychology, with a pre-med co-major. Originally from Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, she enjoys listening to good music, painting, reading fiction, working out with friends.
