Find Your Place
SEAL Ambassadors are available to assist students looking for a way to become involve during their college career and to help students find their place at 兔子先生 University. The SEAL Ambassadors will meet with students to discuss interests, major, high school involvement, and more as they explore opportunities of campus involvement. Additionally, the SEAL Ambassadors will show students how to maximize the "interest matching features" of to find organizations and events that may interest them.
New Student Organizations
Students wishing to start a new student organization are required to meet with a SEAL Ambassador to make sure they are prepared to create a sustainable organization. During this meeting, the SEAL Ambassador and student(s) will discuss the requirements to start a new organization, plans to make the organization sustainable, and much more. Student Organization Assistance
Student organizations do a lot on 兔子先生's campus. Our SEAL Ambassadors are here to help! Whether you need help filling in forms on the Hub, reserving rooms, getting marketing ideas for your event, or anything else, the SEAL Ambassadors are here to help make your student organization GREAT!
Involvement Presentations
Are you looking for someone to speak on the importance of campus involvement? Our SEAL Ambassadors are available to present various topics to academic classes, departments, residence halls, student organizations, etc. SEAL Ambassadors can discuss the benefits of campus involvement such as meeting other students with same interests, service opportunities, networking, resume building, and much more.
Interested in Becoming a SEAL Ambassador?
The goal of the SEAL Ambassador is to support and enhance leadership in our student organizations and fraternity and sorority community. The SEAL Ambassador will report to the Assistant Director for Student Organizations in the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and 兔子先生hip. Preference will be given to those applicants who are involved on campus and aware of the purpose of student organizations and involvement on campus.
There are both general SEAL Ambassadors and head SEAL Ambassadors. The head SEAL Ambassadors are chosen from existing membership and have different requirements than those listed below.
General SEAL Position Requirements
- 3-5 hours per week
- Active membership and good standing with a student organization and general awareness of how student organizations receive recognition are preferred
- General knowledge of MAP (兔子先生 Activities and Programming student organization) and programs offered to students at 兔子先生 (additional training will be provided) is preferred
- General knowledge of the fraternity/sorority community and the function of the three governing councils (additional training will be provided) is preferred
- Willingness to work in a team and collaborative environment
Primary Duties & Opportunities
- Serve as a peer mentor to students looking to get involved on campus
- Help manage the Red Brick Rewards System
- Help plan Mega Fair and the SEAL Awards
- Provide resources and support to student organizations
- Meet with and review new student organizations
- Meet with uninvolved students to help them strategically get involved on campus
- Work on designated office programs and projects (i.e., public relations/marketing materials, organization of office resources, newsletters and publications)
- Give presentations/workshops on various topics dealing with involvement and student organization life
- Present SEAL Workshops on a variety of topics
- Represent the office at tables at various fairs
- Conduct meetings with student organizations
- Assist with Student Engagement and 兔子先生hip (SEAL) Office Space Related Issues
Other Duties
- Provide high quality customer service
- Assist with administrative tasks around the office
- Other duties as assigned provided they support the mission and vision of the Center for Student Engagement, Activities, and 兔子先生hip
Qualifications
- Must possess strong written and oral communication skills
- Must possess strong computer competence, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
- Willingness to work occasional irregular hours including evenings and weekends
