ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Varsity Synchronized Skating

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú's Varsity Synchronized Skating program consists of two teams—the Senior and Collegiate USFS Divisions—which compete at the National (both), International (Sr), and World Championship (Sr) levels. The program conducts tryouts every year which are traditionally held in April for the upcoming season. Prospective skaters can create an online profile through our website and stay updated via the Synchronized Skating page and our social media channels. Skaters must also join the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Skating Club(MUSC) for competition, with options for full or associate memberships.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Skating Club (MUSC)

Skaters that compete for ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University, both Club and Varsity teams must have a membership to the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Skating Club. Many former student/skaters maintain their U.S. Figure Skating affiliation through membership in the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Skating Club. Prospective members may make MUSC their home USFS club, or choose an associate membership. Skaters representing ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University in competition are required to have a MUSC membership.

Students who are enrolled full time are eligible for an USFS discounted collegiate membership which is valid with U.S. Figure Skating for four years. Members also have access to U.S. Figure Skating Test Sessions held throughout the year. For more information, contact David Goodman at Goodmadn@ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉúOH.edu.

ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Ice Skating Club (MISC)

MISC is a large, student-run club sport team participating in freestyle, ice dance, and as a synchronized skating team. The Club welcomes all levels and disciplines of ice skating including recreational members. Skaters can choose to compete as part of either or both the Intercollegiate Freestyle or Open Collegiate Synchronized Skating competitive teams. The Goggin Ice Show is open to skaters of all ages and levels who are currently enrolled in our Learn to Skate program. The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Skating Academy and ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University skaters also perform in our show. This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome our Oxford community to the Goggin Ice Center and showcase the delightful talents of our community and college skaters alike.

Ticket Info

• When ticket sales begin they will be available for purchase at the Pro Shop.
• Skaters will receive one Participant Ticket included in their registration. This ticket may be used at either performance.
• All other tickets can be purchased through Goggin Ice Center's Pro Shop beginning in April or the day of the show.
• All seating is general admission.

Freestyle Sessions

Freestyle sessions are special ice times reserved for figure skaters to practice individually and have private lessons with an instructor. Freestyle sessions are for skaters at USFS Basic 6 and/or ISI Gamma levels and above, unless otherwise arranged with the Skating Director. Goggin offers College Freestyle Sessions (CFS), and General Freestyles (FS) to accommodate all skaters.

Private Lessons

The Goggin Ice Center offers private lessons for skaters of all levels. Our professional staff provides instruction in a variety of disciplines including: Basic Skills, Freestyle, Ice Dance, Moves in the Field, Choreography, and Synchronized Skating Skills. Lessons are offered during freestyle sessions. Our coaching staff includes elite and professional coaches with varying rates.

Synchronized Skating School

The mission of the ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Skating Academy is to promote community participation in figure skating for all ages and abilities in a positive and safe environment. The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Skating Academy operates under the umbrella of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA) and is organized and operated by a volunteer parent board. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Skating Academy programming includes:

• USFSA memberships
• Competitions for individual skaters
• Seasonal skating exhibitions
• Competitive synchronized skating teams
• USFSA Testing

The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú Skating Academy is dedicated to helping skaters have a safe, fun, and positive environment for their individual skating paths. We strive to inspire our skaters with an emphasis on effort, goal setting, and good sportsmanship, and to celebrate the achievements of our skaters on and off the ice. We hope to instill a passion and connection to skating that will last a lifetime!
