ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú team earns grant for young adult literature research

Kelli Rushek, assistant professor of English education, AYA ELA student Lada Gallant, and professor of English education Katherine Batchelor have received a 2025 ALAN Foundation Grant from the Assembly of Literature for Adolescents of the National Council of Teachers of English. The award supports their project, Literature in Rural Little Free Libraries: A Preservice ELA Teacher Action Research Project, an idea of Gallant’s sparked by AYA ELA coursework and developed collaboratively with faculty. The team’s research will be featured in a future issue of The ALAN Review and recognized at the ALAN Convention this November in Denver.
