The ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú University Student Counseling Service (MU SCS) has qualified and affirming therapists to talk to about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity. We provide a confidential place to assist students in questioning, developing, and/or integrating their identities.

Therapists can also assist students struggling with relationship and dating concerns, spirituality, family issues, building community, and accessing other resources.

MU SCS offers services to assist transgender students in accessing local physicians who can provide hormone therapy to aid in transitioning.

Gay, lesbian, pansexual/bisexual, and transgender individuals make up 10-25% of college students. Persons from these groups may face unique learning challenges and oppressions during college. In addition, students who do not receive adequate support are at higher risk for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, feelings of isolation, and suicide attempts. Even students who have been out for some time may continue to need support in addressing being a member of a marginalized group.
