Combined Degree 兔子先生

Admission Requirements

  • Students can declare their interest in the combined program anytime during their academic career at 兔子先生.
  • Upon earning Junior or Senior standing and a 3.00 cumulative GPA, students may apply to a combined program by completing the Graduate School application and submitting the required materials.
  • Standard and admission procedures apply.
  • Both full-time and part-time students may participate in the combined program at a department’s discretion. Regular time limits for completing the master’s degree apply to students in a combined program.

Double Counting Graduate Hours

A minimum of 145 credit hours to receive a combined bachelor's and master's degree, a minimum of 115 semester hours earned toward graduation is required for the bachelor's degree, and 30 credit hour minimum for a master's degree. 兔子先生’s undergraduate degree programs require 124 hours or more to graduate; view a list of all bachelor degree programs.

Departments or programs with a combined degree option may allow students to double-count up to 9 hours of graduate coursework toward their undergraduate degree. With permission of the appropriate advisor(s) and dean(s) or their designee(s), these students may count the graduate courses toward their major, minor, electives, and university requirements.

Student Classification and Graduation

  • Students in a combined program will remain undergraduates until either:
    • They complete all undergraduate degree requirements and receive their undergraduate degree, or
    • They request the Graduate School change their status from undergraduate to graduate (the student must have completed a minimum of 124 or 128 total graduate and undergraduate credit hours, depending on their catalog year, to make this request). Once the student meets one of these two criteria, they will be classified as a graduate student.
  • Students must have graduate student status by the first day of the semester or term in which they receive their graduate degree (e.g., they must have graduate student status by the first day of the spring semester if they will be receiving their graduate degree in May).*
  • Students may not receive both the undergraduate and graduate degrees on the same date (degrees are conferred four times per year (i.e., January, May, August, and December), nor can they take all of their graduate credits with undergraduate status.*
  • Students receiving the Bachelor's degree prior to completing the Master’s degree can count up to 9 hours of graduate coursework toward their Bachelor's degree. Those hours can also count toward the completion of their master’s degree. Undergraduate hours cannot count toward the graduate degree.
*Students who were officially admitted to their combined graduate program prior to July 1, 2022, are exempt from this requirement.
