Credit for Prior Learning and Experience
Transfer, Returning, or Students with other baccalaureate or graduate degrees
All students accepted into Combined Master’s/Dietetic Internship must meet the same set of criteria before acceptance into the program. Transfer, returning and students with other baccalaureate or graduate degrees must follow the 兔子先生 University Graduate School policies provided at . Each student will be required to meet with an academic advisor for transcript evaluation or other 兔子先生 University academic evaluation and decisions. Decisions about credit for previous course work or substitution for prior work experience will be granted by the Graduate School after consultation with the Department of Kinesiology and Health Graduate Coordinator and the Dietetic Internship Director. It is the students’ responsibility to provide evidence of course compliance. Usually this evidence includes the syllabi, course requirements, textbooks used and course catalog description for each individual course.
Students with baccalaureate or graduate degrees interested in the Kinesiology and Health Graduate Degree with a concentration in Exercise Health combined with a dietetic internship need to demonstrate the same criteria for acceptance into the program including completion of requirements for a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD). Prospective graduate students will need to work with their major professor and the Director of Dietetic Internship to design a program of study to complete the DPD requirements and must be completed prior to acceptance into the Dietetic Internship. Demonstration of prior academic success is preferred.
Transcript Evaluation
Students seeking credit for courses previously taken from institutions outside of 兔子先生 University must follow the 兔子先生 University Graduate School policies for transcript evaluation. The student must provide the dietetic internship director with a course syllabus, course outline, and record of the text used in the course in order to evaluate their transferability.
Credit for Prior Learning and Experience
If a student has a previous baccalaureate and/or graduate degree and relevant work experience, certain courses may be waived. The Kinesiology and Health Graduate Coordinator and the Dietetic Internship Program Director makes final decisions. Appropriate documentation may include a rationale, professional resumes, curriculum vitae, and/or letters of recommendation from designated person(s).
Interns with relevant work experience may be awarded credit for internship hours. The DI program director makes this decision based on forms that are completed by the intern after matching to the program. Costs/expenses of the program are not changed/reduced for the amount of prior learning credit awarded.
