Counselor Education–Master of Education Student Handbook
Overview
The 兔子先生 University Counseling Program will allow students to earn a graduate degree in Counselor Education- Master of Education (M.Ed). Students can specialize in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) or School Counseling (SC). Each pathway prepares students for licensure, either as a school counselor (SC pathway) or as a licensed professional counselor (LPC; CMHC pathway) in Ohio. Upon graduation, students take their respective licensing exams. Our program offers students the opportunity to declare dual specialties within the graduate program, requiring an additional academic year, including additional coursework and field hours. This is a fully online program, both synchronous and asynchronous, but requires a face-to-face component for the Pre-Practicum requirement. Our program manual contains additional information on coursework requirements, field placements, and preparation for licensure.
Additionally, this handbook will assist you in understanding the policies, expectations, and program standards. As part of the CACREP requirements, programs are required to provide a student handbook outlining the specific policies and procedures. 兔子先生 University’s Graduate School also has a student handbook with additional policies and procedures. Students are responsible for staying up to date on program, university, and college handbook policies and expectations. Students should refer to the handbook or the program director with specific questions. A copy of the 兔子先生 Counseling Program Student Handbook is also available on the program’s website.
